I've always been a fan of checkerboard tiles in kitchens,so classic and looks great with older and modern kitchens,and how great do those yellow chairs look in this kitchen as well that i found by Oneblackbird on Flickr

oh I love a checkerboard floor - hoping to do my kitchen in my little apartment next year and this is in the running for the flooring!
